Apple is constantly releasing software updates that improve the functionality of your phone. They may add new features, fix problems that have been discovered, or make your phone faster. It is important to note, however, that updates are released periodically, so your phone will notify you when there is one available via a notification. This is how you install a new one!

1. Go to the “Settings” app (if you have trouble finding it, see this guide on how to search for apps).

2. Once in settings, scroll down until you see “General.” Click it.

3. Then, click on “Software Update” close to the top.

4. If there is an available update, it will appear here (and look like this), otherwise, it will say “iOS is up to date” meaning you have no updates to install.

5. Click “Download and Install

6. Wait for your phone to install the update and then it will be ready to use.

Now you are up to date!

If you want your phone to automatically install updates in the future when they are released, follow these steps…

1. Navigate to the “Software Update” page (see above for how to get there).

2. Click “Automatic Updates” at the top.

3. Click both of the sliders on the right side so that they are green (green = enabled).
